Wig Care & Styling - Synthetic Hair

Synthetic hair has come a long way in recent years, due to technological advances. The most appealing aspect to synthetic hair is it can often be worn right out of the box with little to no styling. The fiber used has a memory for wave, curl and volume, letting the hair bounce back into place with minimal effort and the curl pattern is permanently set. It can even hold up in bad weather and guarantees no drooping or frizzing.

Washing

  • Fill sink with cool water and emulsify a capful of synthetic wig shampoo on to the wig.

  • Gently wash the wig, taking care not to tangle the hair in the sink. Try to keep the hair travelling in the same direction.

  • Rinse gently in cool water and do not rub.

Drying

  • Wrap the wig in a towel and gently pat dry.

  • Gently detangle hair using a wide tooth wig comb.

  • Spray the wig with a leave-in synthetic hair conditioning spray keeping away from base of wig.

  • Allow the wig to air dry naturally by placing on a plastic or wire wig stand. Do NOT blow dry.

Styling

  • Do not use heat tools - curling irons, flat irons or blow dryers.

  • Do not stand close to an oven or bbq.

  • Styling is very easy with a synthetic wig. We recommend simply using your fingertips or a wig brush for your desired style.

  • If fullness is desired, backcomb the hair gently then smooth the surface hair over and apply a holding spray.

  • We recommend using a detangling spray to detangle a synthetic wig. This is especially important with mid to long length wigs.
